BEP Advisors played a key role in designing the first river offset project in the region for the Reventazón Hydroelectric Project (305 MW, US $1.2 billion) in Costa Rica. The work was completed with the support of the IDB, IFC, and ICE (the country’s leading energy and telecommunications company). The firm also contributed to the development of management plans, the design of a payment for ecosystem services program, the assessment of cumulative impacts, and mitigation measures for Reventazón, including the consolidation of a major biodiversity corridor for jaguars (33,400 ha), the Barbilla-Destierro Corridor.
