On behalf of financial institutions, BEP Advisors is responsible for monitoring and supervising the environmental, social, and occupational health and safety aspects of the Boca Chica Thermoelectric Project. In its initial phase, this plant has an installed capacity of 190 megawatts (MW) in open cycle and is projected to reach a nominal capacity of up to 260 MW with the development of the combined cycle. The project is equipped with 12 turbines, ten of which are Titan PGM 130 units, while the remaining two are Titan 250 units, all operating on natural gas.
The state-of-the-art technology implemented ensures gas emissions to the environment well below the standards established by national regulations. Furthermore, the power plant is designed with a noise reduction system to maintain tranquility in its surroundings, and its vibrations are virtually imperceptible. With an unwavering commitment to sustainability and well-being, the Boca Chica Thermoelectric Project stands as a benchmark for clean and efficient energy generation technology.
